Potasse and Produits Chimiques SAS (PPC) is a combined research and production center located in the east of France on the Swiss-German border.Since it was opened back in 1808, the Thann chemicals facility has assumed a prominent place in the history of the French chemicals industry. It is a mid-sized company employing nearly 260 people The leading lights of industrial chemistry and research have been associated with its success. In 2008, PPC will celebrate two centuries of progress.

The Fine Chemicals division provides global facilities and expertise at every step of the product development cycle, from laboratory to manufacturing volumes. With versatile production facilities, an innovative Research & Development center, a multipurpose kilo-lab and pilot production unit, PPC can react and adapt quickly to meet customer demands. This division is specialized in the bromination process and is integrated with hydrogen and chlorine. Residual aqueous brominated solutions can be recovered and bromine reused.
The Potassium and Chlorine Chemicals division offers the most complete line of high quality potassium products in Europe and is widely acknowledged for its expertise in this field of chemistry. Our electrolysis and derivative production plants produce a line of liquid potassium hydroxide and carbonate, and solids in the form of flakes and pellets, covering a broad range of different concentrations and packaging sizes, tailored to our customers needs. In addition to potassium products, we also produce gaseous and liquid chlorine, and chlorine derivates such as synthetic hydrochloric acid and bleach.
Our customers located all over the world receive our products delivered to their door steps and rely on highly experienced logistics department which ships over 250,000 mt of products per year.
PPC has also an excellent productivity ratio achieved by skilled personnel. Furthermore, PPC has access to additional resources through co-operation agreements with engineering schools universities and research centers.
