Position summary
We are seeking a Chief Business Officer to manage and market biomarker services and biomarker-based products, reporting directly to the CEO. The role is mainly business development and relationship management to develop and manufacture biomarker based tools including RUO and IVD products and sell biomarker laboratory services to biopharmaceutical industry, focused on cardiovascular diagnostic & drug development.
The successful candidate will provide a hands-on approach to identify opportunities, create contacts and generate secure agreements with bio-pharmaceutical managers, project coordinators and other overall potential clients. The Chief Business Officer will engage in and manage relations with the biopharmaceutical companies’ preclinical & clinical development teams in order to understand their biomarker strategy, improve and implement the business development plan and utilize an account management process to track progress in generating new accounts and expanding business to secure companion diagnostics, other pre-clinical and clinical biomarker tools. The candidate will organize, communicate and facilitate engagement at multiple levels in the selected key accounts.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record, previous experience and understanding on diagnostic or biopharma industry needs related to discovery, assay development, validation and qualification of candidate biomarkers.
Strong consultative selling skills, ability to explore and identify specific customer needs that company’s capabilities can meet; develop/maintain positive relationship with biopharmaceutical companies and represent the Company’s strategy and product offering.
The successful candidate will be able to start the business from scratch, and to help build up a diversified portfolio of customers, products and services, together with the sales team, with the possibility for the right candidate, in a later stage, to become also the Head of sales.
The position is based in the Basel region, on the French side, and will require frequent traveling.
